Benefits of Kovas Membership
Kovas membership is great value. Membership provides a range of benefits, including:
  • Free basketball training sessions with experienced coaches
  • Payment of Team Entry Fees to local sports competitions throughout the year
  • Kovas singlets provided to members playing in local competitions or at svente
  • Early invitations to Social Events
  • Access to purchase Kovas t-shirts, polos etc.
  • Ability to participate at a Sporto Šventė (provided you meet svente participation criteria)
  • Financial subsidies to attend inter-state Sporto Šventė carnivals (subject to FONDAS grant rules)
  • Ability to represent Australia at the World Lithuanian Games
  • Become eligible to join the Kovas Management Committee
  • Be elgibile to become a Kovas Life Member

To become a Kovas member, you can pay an annual membership fee. Membership runs from 1 January to 31 December each year. Membership costs:
  • Adults $10.00 per year (aged 16 and above)
  • Kids $5.00 per year (aged 0 to 15 years)

  • Full Name of each member
  • Date of Birth of each member
  • Contact Number (mobile)
  • If participating at Šventė, which sports you would like to play

Want to participate at a Sporto Svente?

Participating at a Sporto Šventė is FUN! Participation is encouraged regardless of your age or ability. Gone are the days of high competition and a winner takes all attitude. These days, the Sporto Šventė is all about having fun, catching up with friends and having a go (ok, sometimes the basketball can still be competitive, but in a friendly way).
In 2024, the 72nd Sporto Šventė will be held in Adelaide, South Australia between 27 and 31 December, and will be hosted by the Adelaide VYTIS Sports Club. Vytis have advise they will offer the following sports (subject to enough participants).
  • Basketball – men's, women's, mixed, and junior divisions
  • Volleyball – mixed
  • Golf
  • Billiards
  • Futsal – mixed
  • Netball – mixed
  • Swimming – kids/ juniors
  • Chess
  • Tennis - men's, women's, mixed doubles
  • Table Tennis
  • Darts
  • Orienteering – kids/juniors
Participation rules
To participate at a Sporto Šventė you must meet two mandatory criteria:
  • You must have Lithuanian Heritage (at least one Lithuanian parent or grandparent or be the legal partner (spouse/ de-facto) to a person of Lithuanian Heritage.
  • You must be a paid, financial member of SLSK KOVAS (or another ALFAS sports club).
Do you already have a team?
Provided each player meets the šventė entry criteria, if you would like to nominate your entire team to participate at šventė, each player must first become a Kovas member and then we can register the team.
